Mental Talk – Peer Support Group: Stigmas Surrounding Mental Health
Every day we find ourselves surrounded by the stigmas that come with having a mental illness or even looking into mental health resources. Join us in a conversation about the power and problem that living with these stigmas has on our everyday lives. We’ll be able to talk about how the mental health stigma is viewed now versus in the past and what things have changed and has helped to the change. We’ll also discuss how different groups respond differently to these stigmas and what resources can be found to help educate and end the stigma that comes with mental health.
About Mental Talk: Good Mental Health is all about talking, sharing, and listening to one another. What better way to share life experiences in a supportive peer and topic lead group. Topics will range from work, family, caregivers and life balance, meditation, chronic pain, self-care, stress, racism (Transgenerational Trauma) depression, and more. Mental Talk is for someone who believes peer mental health support is important. This group is open, honest, and willing to share in a supportive environment. No judgment. Always kindness.
