We thank everyone who donated and/or went out on a great weekend to the first exercise and be in the moment of good overall mindfulness and helping families dealing with mental health. We raised $100 for families in need and we believe every bit counts! Look out for your swag in the mail soon for getting out there and joining the fun.
This year I decided to go to the lakefront in Chicago and enjoy the many people out walking, jogging, biking, sailing, etc. It was a brilliant day all weekend and I haven’t really been at the lake in over four years now that I live inland.
I decided to take my time walking on the first day! (September 9) and really viewing all the great sights of Chicago. When I saw a spot I wanted to take in, I sat down and began my 5 to 10 meditation. I really recommend doing this 3-5 times a day, especially when you are stressed or overwhelmed during your day. It’s also a great time to do it while you are sitting at your office, on the bus riding to work, or any other time that you have a few moments.
The annual event is not just about raising funds, (though, that’s very important for families in need) – but it was about everyone taking time out of their busy day and reflecting on seeing the world around you, even in your own local neighborhood for one to two hours. I hope you join me next year when we do this again for families. Cheers -AM
6 mile ride along the lakefront! Beautiful day to get out and support the cause for mental health.
