AmazonSmile will donate products to Step Up For Mental Health® to bring smiles to families dealing with mental health-related issues to Chicago communities this holiday season
Chicago, November 29, 2020 — As part of its #DeliveringSmiles program, Amazon will make an in-kind donation to Step Up For Mental Health® from their Charity Wishlist to support Chicago’s homeless women population and benefit the Step Up Small Grant program and Step Up Kids Program to help more families this holiday season.
This gift comes just in time for the yearly #GivingForward year-end giving campaign. Starting in December Step Up For Mental Health® will distribute donations to local families in need until the end of the year and deliver fresh fruit and vegetables. We want to do our part as a small nonprofit — anyone can give, even if it’s helping one family, 10 families or 150 families, which is the goal, along with our annual swag bags that will have books, toys and a little tech inside to help families who are struggling with home learning during the pandemic.
“We are so excited that we were selected from 1,000 global nonprofits, and it brings a smile to our face that what we do is making a difference in the lives of families in the local community. This year has been very challenging for many. Starting in May of 2020 we had to step it up with our helpline, with peer support and with small grants which included diapers, food and essential medication. Now, thanks to AmazonSmile, we can give back even more to families who just need a little cheer at the end of 2020! We are honored that Amazon has made that possible.” — Adrienne McCue, President & Director
